FAQs ABOUT SHARED RESOURCES

Q: What sorts of research resources are available through IHD?
A: IHD coordinates access to young research participants who attend our campus early care and education programs. To facilitate these research activities, we have observation rooms in preschool classrooms (indoor and outdoor), as well as research observation rooms. At IHD, there is a reception area for participants who are taking part in research projects at the main site. In addition, we have a conference room that holds up to 25 people, and can be reserved for use by IHD members.
Q: How do I get more information about conducting research with children attending the campus early care and education programs?
A: Ann Wakeley, Ph.D. coordinates access to young research participants in our programs. Please contact her for more information.
Q: What age range of children is available through the campus early care and education programs?
A: Campus early care and education includes children ages 3 months to 7 years of age. More information about current enrollment within each age range can be provided by Ann Wakeley, Ph.D., our research coordinator.
Q: What sorts of facilities does IHD have for data collection?
A: IHD has observation galleries in two of our preschool classrooms at the Harold E. Jones Child Study Center, which allow the viewing of participating children in both their inside and outside activities. These observation galleries are large enough to hold a class group. In addition, at the Child Study Center, we have individual testing rooms with one-way mirrors and audio access to facilitate observation of research activities. For conducting research at the Child Study Center, please contact Ann Wakeley, Ph.D., research coordinator. For conducting research at the main IHD site, please contact Lisa Branum.
Q: How do I reserve the conference room?
A: The IHD conference room is available for use by IHD members. To reserve it, please contact Lisa Branum.
