This talk will cover a variety of cross-cultural developmental
research studies. Topics include the development of children’s free
will beliefs, optimism and wishful thinking in young children, and
research suggesting that children are more flexible learners than
adults, regardless of background. Research was conducted in the U.S,
China, Singapore, and Peru. Recently, we developed a new field site
in Peru. I will describe this new site and discuss some of the
logistical and administrative aspects of conducting research abroad.
